Dear Toby,

Hotels in Lijiang (Lijiang Ancient Town Inn): The hotel is quite, but it is rundown-old carpet on floor ect. Because there are lots of other inns in the old towns, I would not recommend the Ancient Town Inn as it is very much in need of some upgrading. But the staff was friendly and helpful, the location excellent, so as long as some case however it was about a "2" star (but clean) they might choose it!

Meals (Breakfast in Hotel): Breakfast was awful - cold ect - only ate loft!

Tour Guide: We took a day trip with a local guide to some minority villages and rode a horse up the mountains. Excellent!

Shopping: Lijiang is a tourist shopping experience.
