From Beijing to Shanghai

Train: There are 5 non-stop trains from Beijing Railway Station to Shanghai Railway Station daily. The train leaves at 19:00, 19:07, 19:14, 19:21, and 19: 35 everyday and arrives in Shanghai Railway Station next morning at 6:58, 7:05, 7:12, 7:19, and 7:47. The tickets price for soft seat is USD 39 and the price for soft sleep is USD 62 (up) or 64 (down).

Air: Shanghai Airline, China Eastern Airline, China Southern Airline and China Airline provide more than 30 flights from Beijing to Shanghai everyday. The normal price of air ticket is USD 137.

From Beijing to Suzhou

Train: There is one non-stop train (Z85) from Beijing Railway Station to Suzhou Railway Station everyday. It leaves Beijing at 19:35 and arrives in Suzhou at 6:55 next morning. The train ticket price for soft sleep is USD 60(up) or USD 62(down).

Air: There is no direct airline from Beijing to Suzhou. You can choose to take the flight from Beijing Capital International Airport to Shanghai Hongqiao Airport (not necessary the Shanghai Pudong International Airport) which is about 60 km from Suzhou. There are buses from Shanghai Hongqiao Airport to Suzhou and it takes you about 1 hour to Suzhou.

From Beijing to Lijiang

Train: There is no direct train from Beijing to Lijiang.

Air: There is no air company providing direct flight from Beijing to Lijiang. You can choose to take the flight from Beijing to Kunming and there are buses and short airlines from Kunming to Lijiang. The air ticket price from Beijing to Kunming is USD 185.

All the domestic flights except the flights to Hong Kong are expected to pay airport tax RMB 50(USD 6), and flight to Hong Kong is expected to pay departure tax RMB 90 (USD 11).

Getting to Vietnam
There is a twice-weekly international train that runs between Beijing and Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam. The entire Beijing and Hanoi run is 2951 km and takes 55 hours. Schedules are subject to change, but at present train NO.5 departs Beijing at 10:51am on Monday and Friday, arriving in Hanoi at 11:30 am on Wednesday and Sunday.
